“Whatever they grow up to be, they are still our children, and the one most important of all the things we can give to them is unconditional love. Not a love that depends on anything at all except that they are our children.”
ECED common problem with Solution
Problem # 1: Not able to appraise child's academic progress
Most parents are unable to have a good grasp of what their child learn at school. This is tough because the current syllabus is totally different from what the parents have studied in yesteryears.
Solution # 1:
Use a system which incorporates a revision module that allows students do short regular exercises and provides instant Output Learning to assess a student's level of understanding of a particular topic taught in school. Students can select a particular topic taught in class that day and instantly find out if they have understood what they have learnt and review their understanding of that topic. Parents will be able to monitor their children's academic progress and help them identify their children's strength and weaknesses so that timely measures can be taken to correct any shortcomings.
Problem # 2 Tooddler sleep problems:
• Lack of routine and bed time rituals
• Childhood depression, anxiety or trauma
• Intestinal worms
• Obstructive sleep apnea syndrome symptoms include, snoring, difficulty in breathing or mouth breathing during sleep. It affects 1-3 percent of the children. The main causes of sleep apnea are obesity and neuromuscular disease.
• Narcolepsy – this toddler sleep disorder have a great difficulty in getting up in the mornings. When awaken the child may appear to be mystified or may be destructive or verbally abusive.
• Bed wetting is one of the most prevalent toddler sleep problem. It is a hereditary disorder.
• Night terrors- occur approximately 90 minutes into sleep. The child suddenly sits upright and screams and is devastated for up to 30 minutes and falling back to sleep.
• Sleepwalking and sleep talking. In this stage a child sits up in bed with eyes open but is unseeing.
• Some of the toddler sleep disturbances are night awakenings and bedtime resistance.
• Snoring, noisy breathing, coughing during night and sweating during night are the common toddler sleep problems.
Solution # 2
• Develop a steady night time routine with supper, bath and a bed time story every night.
• By following a nightly bedtime ritual, he knows that what is expected of him and what to expect at night.
• Some children go to sleep more easily with white noise from a fan or sound machine. Baby music helps to calm your baby.
• Massaging your toddler for 15 minutes before bed time makes your toddler to sleep.
• Create calm, soothe, secure and pleasant sleep environment for toddler sleep.
• Maintain the room temperature between 60 and 65.
• Turn off the lights in your bedroom.
• Gently rock your baby to sleep. The motion of rocking chair or being carried in a sling will lull baby to sleep.
• Offer your child a cup of warm milk before going to bed. This may help him get to sleep.
• Leave the door open for a toddler to feel secure.
• If your child will go to bed only if you are around, then teach him how to soothe himself to sleep.
Problem # 3: You only know your child's result when they bring home report card
Most parents can only tell their children to work hard in the next term if the exam results for the current term are unsatisfactory. Many are unable to have a preview of their children's strong and weak subjects before exam.
Solution # 3:
Use a system to give you unprecedented 1st hand knowledge of your children's strong and weak subjects. It records and displays your children's average scores for each subject for that month. You can also check on previous months' results to compare the difference.
Only a proven system can give you a review your children's performances & identify weakness so that timely measures can be taken to correct whatever deficiency before the actual exam takes place.
Problem # 4: Not satisfied with exam results
Let's face it. The percentage of excellent students are only 10% or less which means out of 100 students only 8 to 10 that can really produce excellent results in exams. A review on the strategies adopted by these excellent students has shown that 2 to 3 months before actual exam, they have intensively attempted at least 7-10 years of past years exam paper.
Solution # 4:
Use a system that allows students sitting for national examinations to practice on actual past years' examination papers. Each exam paper is set exactly the same as the actual examination paper format and students have the options to select questions either by "year" or by "random" and have to complete all exercises within the time allocated. This allows students countless examination practices thus helps and condition students to be exam ready and Score A's in the real examinations.
Problem # 5 bedtime battles.
Does your child go calmly to bed, only to repeatedly get up for that last sip of water or visit to the bathroom? Does it take you one to two hours to get your child to finally settle in for the night? There are several ways you can handle this depending upon the age of your child. If your son or daughter is a toddler or pre-schooler, you may want to keep a chart.
Solution # 5
Each time your child goes to bed and stays in bed, reward her with a sticker. After a designated time period in which she stayed in the bed for several consecutive nights, let her choose a particular treat, such as a small toy or a visit to a new playground. Be sure you praise her for being a good girl. If your child is older, you may need to dock any extra time that he takes staying in the bed. Explain to your child that the longer he stalls going to bed, the less time he will be allowed to watch television or play on the computer.
Management process
I think to lessen those problem that the child usually encounter the things that should remember are:
.>Parental guidance
.>Do not tolerate
.>be supportive
.>give listening ear
.> offer words of encouragement
